Following his Thesis Defense at the University of Waterloo, Roger joined our group in February of this year. For his post doc, he has taken the lead on helping us understand the role EVs play in regulating hematopoietic stem cells. He has made steady progress in getting experimental systems in place and validating approaches for studying HSC and EVs, when his Graduate Studies caught up with him recently: Roger was awarded with the "W.B. Pearson Medal" for his PhD thesis work!
The award that is given annually to one doctoral student in each department in the Faculty of Science at the University of Waterloo, in recognition of creative thesis research.
Roger received the award during the Graduation Ceremony on June 12th, 2019 at the University of Waterloo. A a well-earned victory lap in Waterloo and an auspicious sign for things to come at CHOP.
Congratulations Roger. Well done!
